App and device not showing the same amount of steps

I noticed yesterday that my device buzzed , meaning I had reached my 10000 steps . (I was exercising at the time ) But half an hour later when I went to the app it only showed 10042

There is no way I only did 42 steps in the following 30 minutes

today my device shows 3 lights meaning I should be atleast over 4000 steps but when I go to the app

It says that I’m at 3900

how can I get my app and device to sync up??

Hi, @Michelle2279 , if your Fitbit and your app indicate a different number of steps that simply means the Fitbit has not synced to the latest number.  Usually this will be a matter of simply waiting a short period and it will happen automatically, so is nothing to worry about.  However, you can usually force a sync by going to the account screen (click on the person icon top left of the opening screen) and choose sync now.

If sync now does not force a sync, it can help to log out of your Fitbit app and log back in again.  That will usually cause your steps to update - but do make sure that you know your email address and password that you use for Fitbit.

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the forums!
