I woke up last night to my Fitbit vibrating like crazy...telling me I had managed to achieve like 15 step goals. I was asleep I didn’t get 500 million steps. I deleted the app and redownlqoded it, logged in and out. It makes no sense! Never had an issue like this before but it messed up everything. Oddly, my activity graph is correct, calories and miles. I clicked into activity graph and got 64 steps. I just woke up, that’s accurate. How do I deleted almost 500 million steps

Unfortunately, Fitbit doesn't allow deleting steps. From the article:
Contact Fitbit live chat support at their available time to see if they can override the step count: https://help.fitbit.com/?cu=1
Also, is this a new Fitbit device that you recently wore that hasn't been synced? That's the only conclusion I can draw unless you were sleep walking/running.
