Dusting off my flex for the first time since 2014- charging but not charging?

I haven't used my flex in years but I recently got re-motivated.  I cleaned my fitbit and the charger and plugged it in.  It's flashing one dot and has been only flashing one dot for 2 days straight.  Is it dead and am I out of luck or will it take more time since it's been hibernating for oh, ummmmm, 6 years now?

I am actually doing the SAME thing!! I read to push the button on the back (I used a tiny pin) while it is charging for up to 30 seconds and it should sync. Mine started working after doing this 2 or 3 times. NOW, It shows full battery and hopefully we're good to go!

I just checked and it's finally up to 3 dots!  Woo hoo.  I think it needed some extra time to get going.  Fingers crossed it works after I put it into the band.

Hi there! My Flex had also been asleep since 2014. It charged up perfectly, while I was searching everywhere for the dongle. Time has marched on-dongle is not needed now.

Best of luck reaching your goals, and enjoy the journey.

I have an old fitbit flex that has to sync to my iPhone so that I can see my steps etc. Ive had my flex for about 6 years and used it last December and it was working perfectly. It is still working fine because it is recharging, and I feel it buzzing on my arm when I have obviously done my goal steps each day, but its not connecting to my phone, so I actually can't see any of the steps, kilometres etc. How can I find this?

If the battery has been dead for 6 years, I very much doubt that there is any life left in the battery.

As for the dongle with most computers today having built in bluetooth, a dongle is not needed. Or purchase a universal dongle.
