Flex 2 Pebble only working when connected to charger

Hoping someone can help... I’ve had my flex 2 for maybe 4 years and had no real trouble with it until the last week or so. My guess at the moment is that the battery can't hold any charge unless plugged into the charging cable. When I put the fit bit pebble in the charger, it lights up with one light and I can see the device detected on my iPhone app and it syncs and counts my steps. However as soon as I take it off the charger the light dies and tapping the device doesn’t light any of the leds. The app also can’t detect the device.

I’m wondering if I just have to get a new Fitbit or is this maybe something like a problem I faced with my iphones and ipods over the years, where the battery has gone beyond some sort of threshold? I had to fix those using 'trickle charging' which meant that I had to use a specific method to get the battery up to a level where it could start charging normally again. Has anyone else faced this issue? I’ve tried a reset with the button on the back of the charger as well as the method tapping the pebble itself but it hasn’t helped

Hi @flex2batteries

Please clean the contacts on the charger and the flex 2 pebble with a damp papertowel or something.

Then charge the flex2 fully till all the dots are lighted up.

Then please restart your fitbit:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or a UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Remove the pebble from the band and press it into the compartment on the charging cable. The pins on the charging cable must align with the corresponding pins on the back of the pebble to lock securely in place.

You’ll know the connection is secure when the pebble vibrates and you see the indicator lights blinking.
  3. Find the button on the charging cable below the tracker compartment.
  4. Press it three times within five seconds. The tracker vibrates each time you press the button. A few seconds after the third press, all the lights will flash simultaneously. This means the pebble has restarted. If you miss the light flash but notice the pebble has resumed charging, that too is confirmation that the restart was successful.
  5. Remove the pebble from the charging cable and insert it back into the band.

Then please try syncing.

please let me know if this was helpful or if you need additional guidance.

There is something wrong with app. My died some time ego. Is 3 years old so I thought is gone. I've got newer one but took a chance for old and charged using new charger. Now I have 2 but can't connect them... Other fitbit devices become useless as well after recent updates.

Hi, I have the same problem. While in charger it syncs up and shows 100% charged etc. but as soon as I put it back in band it dies and does not sync up. It becomes completely in active and does not count any activity. Please help.
