Flex 2 discharging suddenly, no alarm, no reminders

Hi,

I am an avid user of Flex2, I like it it because it is small  and IT DOES NOT have a screen.

Around a months a go, my flex2 started acting weird. I charged it and then it quickly discharged

I thought the battery was old. I had a new one, never used. Charged it fully and then, once I sync it once, half of the battery was down, and then, In less then a day the same.

I have two iPhones in the house - one, an older model - aka Iphone6s running a IOS 13 and a XR running the latest.

I charge both fitbit flex2 and use them on the different phones.

Same happens.

I charge them. reset them, all lights are flashing, battery fully-charged, remove the all day sync, keep the bluetooth off, and the same happens for both.

I set the alarm, it synchronises but it never actually vibrates.

I run the latest app on my phones. And all started once I installed the latest version.

I know it sounds strange, but I think Fitbit did something to its app to kill our Fitbit2 or to make us stop using it.

I would buy a new device tomorrow if it was similar to FLEX2.

I though it might be my old iPhone, but having used another Flex2 on a newer model and since I have the new version of the app, what on Earth is happening?

But there is none on Fitbit or other brans. I do not want it to have screen and clean the house 🙂 I want it simple.

Anyway, Fitbit should check its app and see what exactly is killing my our devices as I see many people have been complaining lately.

Hi, @AnaGng , your “new” never used Flex 2 will be, unfortunately, actually quite old.  This model has not been made for quite a few years now.  All batteries, whether used or not, especially if left uncharged for significant periods of time will deteriorate, and that is almost certainly the reason you are having the problem you described.

I am afraid that it is the laws of physics rather than Fitbit wanting to discourage Flex 2 users!  Sadly, I fear you are in a minority in wanting a tracking device without a screen.  As you mention there are few, if any, such trackers available - Fitbit, and others, are simply responding to what sells well.

I am sorry not to have a better suggestion for you, except that you might enjoy the Inspire 3.  It is quite small - though not as small as the Flex 2, because it has a screen.  But it can be worn on the clip instead of the wrist, so you don’t actually have to look at the screen if you don’t want!

I think there is also a manufacturer who markets a ring - and I doubt that has a screen!

Dear Julia,

Old battery could only explain why they are quickly discharging. The fact that the alarm syncs in the app, i.e. I set the alarm, it gets green in the app but it never actually starts vibrating at the set time is not about battery. The fact the notifications are turned on and I never get them, even when fully charged is not about battery. And the same for reminders to move. I think fitbit should look into the latest updates to the app and see what is happening

Hi, @AnaGng yes, all those things are about battery!  Your Fitbit can’t vibrate without sufficient battery, or send notifications or reminders to move without sufficient battery.

This is completely incorrect! I have been using Flex2 for more than 5 years. Even if there was almost no battery left, it would still vibrate for alarm clock, notifications etc. Now three firbitflex2, sync on different phones and different fitbit accounts do not send any kind of notifications. It is a pity that you are not looking into the software of the app.  It is 200% certain that there is something wrong there, and not the battery.
