Flex2 - Orange Light w/ 3 White Lights

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This has been happening to my Flex2 for several months, but I ignored it until now because it is getting a bit irritating.

Periodically my Flex will flash orange w/ three white lights, and vibrate 4 times in a row. It will repeat this sequence three times then stop. Several minutes later, the same sequence repeats. In most cases after this sequence repeats a few times, it finally stops and then I can go days/weeks without it happening again. Then suddenly ... its back

Before anyone posts the listed color codes, this color/pattern is not listed. This is not an alarm, this is not a battery low warning, etc. This color/sequence is not listed anywhere.

If FitBit is monitoring this forum, can someone explain what this color/sequence means?

@TekkGuy thanks for stopping by! That definitely doesn't sound like normal behavior. At first I thought you were referring to the yellow light and three white lights but as I read through your post I noticed you had already checked and it's not a silent alarm, which I find odd.

Like yourself, I wasn't able to find this color pattern anywhere. Therefore, I'd recommend verifying that your Flex 2 has been updated to it's latest version. This will ensure all features work as expected. After you've verified that, I suggest restarting your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or a UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Remove the pebble from the wristband and press it into the compartment on the charging cable. The pins on the charging cable must align with the corresponding pins on the back of the pebble to lock securely in place.User-added imageYou’ll know the connection is secure when the pebble vibrates and you see the indicator lights blinking.
  3. Find the button on the charging cable below the tracker compartment.
  4. Press it three times within five seconds. The tracker vibrates each time you press the button. A few seconds after the third press, all the lights will flash simultaneously. This means the pebble has restarted. If you miss the light flash but notice the pebble has resumed charging, that too is confirmation that the restart was successful.
  5. Remove the pebble from the charging cable and insert it back into the wristband.

The restart should do the trick. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

My Flex 2 USB charger does NOT have a reset button.  And when I attempt to update, the software only finds a Flex (which is boxed up and hasn't been used in months).  How can I reset my Flex 2 without the reset button on the USB charger?

So sorry.  Found the reset button, and I believe it worked.  Thanks so much.  Jo

I have experienced a similar problem this morning  (orange light, etc), but have not able to synchronize it any more, getting as a message "electronic coach not detected ". Any suggestion what we could do ? Thanks for your help !

I am not 100% sure, but I think I know what the ORANGE light means now. It is not documented anywhere, unfortunately. However, it seems to make sense based on my own experience.

I believe the ORANGE light with three white lights refers to a BLUETOOTH CONNECTION/SYNC FAILURE. If your Flex loses it's connection to your mobile device or hasn't synced with your mobile device in some time, it will alert you that you need to sync it by flashing ORANGE.

In my case, the BlueTooth on my phone went bonkers apparently and my Flex2 would not connect/sync. I turned my phone off (completely, not sleep-mode), waited 10 seconds and turned it back on to reset its memory. The Flex2 connected and synced right away, the ORANGE notification hasn't appeared since.

Hope this helps others!

Thanks for your quick reply. I have tried it but it still does not connect. I have also tried with another device, my tablet, and still cannot connect. The last time I have been able to sync is this morning.

Welcome aboard, @jofoy! I'm glad this worked for you. Feel free to post back in case you encounter any other issues.

@TekkGuy this makes sense. Thanks for sharing your experience here. This is what the Community is all about, sharing knowledge and best practices. I'm sure this will definitely help other users who are also experiencing the same issues. Keep it up! Heart

Thanks for joining us in this thread @Natalie66! In case you're still unable to sync your Flex 2, I suggest trying to set up your tracker once more using your Fitbit app by doing the following:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your Flex 2 and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

I really hope this helps. Keep me posted with the outcome! Smiley Wink

I thought you were on to something there, as I started checking my Bluetooth connection when this happened and it was not connected. BUT . . . then last time, it was connected. Maybe it reconnected before I got in my settings? Meanwhile, it is driving me crazy.

Thank you for this tip. This is exactly what my FitBit did today (first time ever) and I figured it might have something to do w/ synching, as I knew I’d taken more steps than the mere 8,800 it had registered.

I’ve been having this issue but only in the late evening. I use the bedtime function on my iPhone which puts my phone on do not disturb, preventing my Fitbit to sync.  I’ve turned the do not disturb option off....Fingers 🤞

I've updated it and that doesn't solve the problem. I've checked the Bluetooth and that doesn't seem to be the issue. I get one orange. And three white ones and it seems to flash three times in a row. Does this almost nightly.

I solved the issue with the orange light. I was unable to locate silent alarms on my iPad, but looked on my PC and found a silent alarm set at the time the orange and white lights were flashing. I deleted that.
