How long did your Flex last before it died?

I was wondering how long do fitbits last before they die, in terms of steps and length of ownership.

I currently own a Fitbit Flex for about 18 months and have logged over 5.5 Million steps. I'm on my 3rd band. I was thinking about upgrading to a charge HR since they have a $50 trade in promotion at the microsoft store. I like the automatic sleep function on the Charge HR, but don't like that you can't change the band.

Over the last 5 years I must have had 4 or 5 different Fitbits, average life a year.  The battery life is the first indication that things are going wrong followed by sleep tracker.  Time to look for an alternative I think, but which one?  I wear my Fitbit 24/7, it doesn't get wet and I like the concept of them.

I was wondering thw same thing. I have had nothing but problems with my fitbit and I am told by customer service its user error. Things just keep getting worse. I can't turn my wrist anymore and have it turn on. And when I get ir ro turn on its really light and then goes to bright. Just wondering how much life is left. I wont buy another fitbit when it dies.

MY fitbit chaarge 3 is dead after 6 months.  I had a regular charge that only lasted 7 months before this.   It went dead today, was fully charged yesterday.  Tried everything, says it is charged then take it off charger and dead battery icon shows.  From all the posts this is a big ongoing problem.  Went to the fitbit live chat and that is not working as you cannot type replies.  Wow!!!  Not good customer relations!!

I'm on my third Charge in 2 years and it just died.  The first 2 were within the warranty period and replaced, but this one made it past the warranty.  I love my charge, but I'm done throwing money out and will seek another solution

My Fitbit Versa 1 lasted 1 year and 8 months.  I was hoping it would go longer but I have had it in hot tubs, water parks, etc multiple times.  Just had it in a hot tub with me the last week and I think I killed it this time.  Looking at the Fitbit Versa 2 at this point.  I may remove now for hot tubs.

My fitbit Versa 2 will not charge! I bought it in December of 2018 and can't believe that it died. What are my options?

Thanks!,

My fitbit Versa just died after 2 years and couple of months. I’ve tried reseting it and recharging it but none of it worked.

How can I send it back to Fitbit and let you guys try to fix it?

I’ve had 2 Versa’s die in the span of 11 months. The first one die at about 8 months and the replacement they sent me just died (I’ve had it  for 3 months). I’m beyond frustrated!

Are you buying them new? The Versa 1 lasted me 1 year and 8 months and I was hoping for 3 years. I did buy recently a Versa 2 because I kind of got addicted to having it. I’m hoping it will last longer.

Yes, my original Versa was brand new.  I'm assuming the replacement Versa FitBit sent to me was new too but for all I know it could have been a refurbished/used one.  I'll be purchasing an Apple watch next time.

rough!  My Versa2 lasted 14 months, purchased new from costco.   Called fitbit and the only troubleshooting steps were reset the watch and clean with alcohol wipes.  I was offered 35% off another fitbit, so another versa2 would come in at 140 after spending 200 a year ago.  Ridiculous, looking into an apple watch too

I have had three fitbit trackers over the course of the last three and a half years. Two Charge 2s both of which lasted approximately 18 months. Most recently I had a Versa Lite, which lasted 6 months. I am deeply disappointed by the quality of their products. I am not even taking in to account the bands which all break within 3-6 months. I have found third party bands more reliable. For what I spend per tracker, I would have expected a longer lifespan. And a 20% discount on a new tracker is not really a great solution. It is reasonable to have a limit on the warranty, but the trackers should not be breaking down so quickly. I am getting a Charge 4 only because I was offered a 50% discount. I am done with fitbit after this next tracker, whenever it chooses to break down. I am tired of this being an almost annual purchase.

Mine last 22 months and died today. I tot I could resurrect it by resetting it with 3 buttons down. But, it died. Never showed much of weakened battery. But, sudden cardiac arrest. So sad and useless

I’ve been wearing my Versa on a daily basis since I purchased it in June 2018. The tracker still works well, but it doesn’t hold its charge as long as it used to. I will probably keep wearing it until it dies altogether. Overall, I’ve had a very good experience with my Fitbit and I plan to purchase a similar model whenever the current one stops working.

I have had my second fitbit I had HR charge 2 and charge 3.  Both seem to end after only about 1.5 years. The first thing you see is your screen fades till you can barely read it and then it goes blank. I love the device but I am upset that this seems like normal? I am now in need of a new one. Trying to decide if I do this again or try something else?

My Fitbit Alta is 5 years old at the end of this year and hit 20,000,000 steps yesterday.  Other than replacing the bands, have had no issues with it.

I've had my Fitbit Flex 2 for at least 6 years. I took a couple years off from using it (had a baby and knew my sleep was going to be crap and didn't want proof of it!) but it has just started not syncing well (which is why I'm in the forums trying to figure out the problem). I think we've had a long run and I may need to get a new one - looking at the Inspire 2 - but I really like my Flex 2.
