How long did your Flex last before it died?

I was wondering how long do fitbits last before they die, in terms of steps and length of ownership.

I currently own a Fitbit Flex for about 18 months and have logged over 5.5 Million steps. I'm on my 3rd band. I was thinking about upgrading to a charge HR since they have a $50 trade in promotion at the microsoft store. I like the automatic sleep function on the Charge HR, but don't like that you can't change the band.

I had it 2 and a half years. When I couldn't get the new one synced and then realized Amazon sent me the wrong one, a week and a half went by and I decided didn't need one after all. I like this new found freedom from my fitbit.😁

2 1/2 years which is not very long for an item that expensive, that is why I decided I can live without it just fine.

I have only had a Fitbit Versa last just barely past the one year warrantee at the longest. The first two were replaced under warrantee. Even having a Fitbit Blaze last a couple of years before the Versa I think I am done with them. I would still use the Versa but I gave it away thinking I had a better smart watch and it, the Versa, still works. Not so much a better deal I guess. Usually Bluetooth is the first thing that fails and then the heart rate monitor quits recording even though the light clearly keeps working. Before the Blaze I was always backing Pebble and switched when Fitbit bought the intellectual properties and Pebble had to end their latest project. I just recently backed a Kickstarter project hoping to get the reliability missing on the Fitbit. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ruxus1/the-un-smart-watch-no-screen-ruxus?

Mine is quite new and completely off tracking heart rate, calories & sleep. I called customer service and they couldn’t have cared less. It’s so obvious that it’s a bad watch and they won’t replace it.

Mine died within a year, too. CS gave me the run a round to try different reboots. Still doesn’t record heart rate, sleep or calories burned! Today it’s lost telling time. And CS won’t help me. Some mumbling about waiting for software.

I got a brand new versa in April, 2019 for my birthday. I can't swim so have never got it wet. I don't wear it in the shower, while doing dishes etc.

On November 24, 2019,  I took my versa off my charger, (having charged it to 100%) and put it on my wrist. I go to press the button to view it and it would not turn on. I held down the left and bottom right button for 30 seconds. Nothing. I held down all 3 buttons for 30 seconds. Nothing. I put it back on the charger and it reads 100%. I took it off the charger, it flashed and read 0%. I put it back on the charger, it read 100% so I decided to factory reset it while it was on the charger. I managed to do that but the same thing happened...100% in the charger, the minute I take it off the charger, it reads 0% and the the versa will not turn on. I decided to document it by making a video of this happening. I called Customer Service and after walking me though all the steps I had already done, they said they will send me a new one. I have not heard anything yet. If I don't hear anything after Thanksgiving, I will call them again. I hope they will send a replacement and that the replacement will work.

EDITED 11/26/19: Fitbit customer service is bending over backwards to make this right so am very impressed with their customer service.  I did call them vs online chat or email. They responded back to me via email today. I will keep updating this post...

Edited 11/27/19: Got an email from Fitbit Customer Service that my replacement versa tracker only and charging cable has been shipped! I will update again when I receive it.

Edited 12/3/19: Got my replacement Fitbit today. I received the Versa 2 and a charging cable. Unfortunately, I can't test it out as the Fitbit app is down today!

Edited 12/4/19: Replacement Fitbit Versa 2 up and running! Just a note for people having problems getting their phone to pair with their Versa...make sure you open bluetooth on your phone FIRST and check that the bluetooth can "see" your versa, then go into the fitbit app and "ADD NEW DEVICE" to start the pairing process. If you still get a message that Versa is Not Connected to your Phone even after you paired it, then go up to the trashcan at the top of the fitbit app and Forget This Device.

Then turn off your phone and the fitbit. Turn the phone back on, and the fitbit back on. Go into the phone's bluetooth and turn bluetooth off and then on and do a scan and the versa should pop up. Then go into the fitbit app and ADD NEW DEVICE again. It should go into the set up where you get the 4 digit code and the versa pairs to the phone. It took me 2 hours before I figured this out!  All is well now!

I am not a first time fitbit user.

My Blaze was purchased in 2016 and still going strong as of today so going on 3 years.

My Versa lasted 7 months before the battery failed.

I have the fitbit Versa. Today, after being on the charger- it quit working. I have had it for 16 months so there is no warranty. They offered a 25% off coupon. When I go online to check the prices- the coupon makes it the same price as it is on Walmart.com with no coupon! 🙄 I feel like a watch that I paid $200 for, should last for more than 16 months!

I had the same problem. 3 Fitbit products in less than 6 years. I called and FitBit didn’t care and offered me the same thing-25% off. Several times over the years I tried to ask them what the expected life of a FitBit product was and they refused to tell me. The last time I called the gentleman at FitBit said the 2 years I got on my Fitbit was excellent. Needless to say I left FitBit and went to Garmin where one of their engineers finally gave me the answer I was looking for on life expectancy of their product. Time to say good bye FitBit
