I was wondering how long do fitbits last before they die, in terms of steps and length of ownership.
I currently own a Fitbit Flex for about 18 months and have logged over 5.5 Million steps. I'm on my 3rd band. I was thinking about upgrading to a charge HR since they have a $50 trade in promotion at the microsoft store. I like the automatic sleep function on the Charge HR, but don't like that you can't change the band.

I am disappointed. My Fitbit only lasted a few months. Was charging it when there was an update in firmware. After that, it just won't turn on and no one bothered to follow up. Really afraid of getting another fitbit

I too am super disappointed at how long my versa lasted. My first fresh out of the box versa lasted about 9 months, they kindly replaced it and my replacement lasted about 4 months and is no longer under warranty. Although I was offered a 25percent discount and I have been a fitbit user since the earliest fitbits, I can't bring myself to spend that much on a device that won't even last a year. I am so disappointed. It would be nice if someone could tell me how long fitbits are supposed to last, as I have had to replace every one I have ever gotten.... I am back to using my old charge 2 until I can decide what to do. Anyone suggest a fitbit that lasts?

Call back and demand a replacement. It was wrong of them not to replace your FitBit. Fight for your $100. Hoping they will come through for you.
I had the same response so i dropped FitBit after almost 6 years. I now have a Garmin vivio.

My fitbit lasted just over a year, after the warranty period, and then it died. The replacement died as well within a year. Fitbit products are not built to last. Terrible product for what you pay for. I will never buy another fitbit again and will never recommend anyone else buying fitbit unless they wish to pay a yearly "subscription" to fitbit.

I love my Fitbit. I have been using fitbits for over 8 years now and have had 4 different types. I have been using the Fitbit versa for 2 years now and love the features that it has. On Tuesday night during a cardio workout my Fitbit sadly died. I had been using it to monitor my heart rate as I have afib. I put it on the charger and nothing happened. I checked my phone to see if I needed an update or sync with no luck. My phone read “ no device found”. I tried emailing costumer support twice and have not heard back. I am Leary to get another Fitbit at the price because of the poor customer support and poor quality of the device. Please someone out there help me.

If you’re not hearing back from support then the downfall is probably happening. The response time for me at the time was immediate, but all they had to offer was a discount on buying a new product. There is no fix! Get something else...

First FitBit was the Charge HR, lasted about 1 year and 1 month before it wouldn't turn on anymore. Have given up smart watches until the FitBit Versa, which now after 1 year and 7 months, the "Confirm/Back/Left Side" button no longer does anything. So I can still activate the watch with the other two buttons, but I cannot change alarms or exit menus etc. Once this one fails indefinitely, I will never come back to FitBit.

Versa - 14 months. Screen just stopped. No way of repair. V disappointing for the money. The service rep just suggested I buy another....! Hard to justify investing again if they are so frail, or built to fail.

I have had my Charge 2 for 3 years and it just died. Never had it swimming and in the shower a couple of times briefly. It is on its 3rd band. I purchased a bunch of bands when I bought the charge 2 because I thought that bands break, wear out, etc. Now, being in Thailand, I'm not sure that I will be able to find a replacement. Fingers are crossed!

I bought my Versa about 16 months ago & it will no longer turn on. I tried replacing the charger & nothing. After reading the forum, I’m seeing I got an extra 4 months out of my watch than others. Going to buy an older Apple Watch for the same price as Versa. Disappointed.

My fitbit flex is nearly 4 years old (I started using it on 6 April 2016). I am on to my 5th wristband and second charger. It needs charging more often than when I first acquired it (charging every 3 days now required) otherwise it works as well as ever. It has stood up to being worn in the shower most days.
