New update deleted my history

Saturday while checking my steps, my Fitbit did not show up on my Dashboard. In addition all of my step history was lost. I did a few things included re-link my Fitbit and he came back for that day but my history is lost.  I just reached out to Fitbit and they offered me a 35% discount to purchase a new one since my current one is out of warranty.  It works fine, it is the software update the messed me up.  Other people posted the same thing. I don't want or need a new one, just the history re-installed.  When I explained again to Fitbit they told me " Unfortunately, our privacy policies do not allow us to access the personal information of customers, that is why we want you to always stay with us, and be able to access one of our most current devices, because, as you may have noticed, we have been making some updates."  So I stayed with Fitbit, they wiped out the history and want me to buy another one?  Fitbit are you listening how ridiculous that is.  You admit your updates did this.  Please give me a real answer

Usually when a user thinks history is lost, it is that they have logged out of fitbit app, then logged back in with a different email/fitbit id, which is the key to how the data is stored on fitbit database.  But the data is still there if log back in with the correct email.  Try looking at fitbit.com dashboard.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I only have one log in. How is it possible to show my total steps as 3.7
million but when I look in the dashboard none of it is there.

ow is it that as soon as I mention there was a problem, Fitbit offers me a
discount on a new one?
I am disappointed in the responses of just ordering a new one. If the
information is there where is it?
