I have an old Fitbit Flex that I exclusively use as a silent alarm to wake me up in the morning (and not wake my wife up!) that for the past few years has been amazing. I only had to charge it once a week and it would still have a good amount of battery left by turning off "all day sync" since I wasn't actually tracking steps with it (but did like the sleep tracking feature!). The recent app updates removing the ability to turn off "all day sync" have caused a couple of issues. First, my phone is attempting to connect to my Flex even when I'm in another room causing other bluetooth devices to disconnect. This frequent connection is also causing the battery on my flex to drain in 2 days or less, and sometimes overnight where I've been left without an alarm on more than one occasion.
I understand that with newer devices the battery drain may not be a concern but I know there's many people using older devices for other purposes, as I am and would want to be able to turn off constant syncing to maximize battery life and minimize disruptions.
