Swimming - can I retroactively change pool length?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I used my fitbit to track my activity during a swim class for the first time.   In previous weeks the class has been taking place in a sectioned off area that I approximated at about 15 meters, so I entered that for pool length.

A few minutes into the class this week we moved into the 25 meter lap lanes, so the fitbit logged my swim at a shorter distance than actually I swam.   From my understanding the fitbit uses time between direction change to calculate things like distance and calories burned.   Therefore I assume my distance logged should be 30-40% higher, and my calories burned are low because it's assuming a slower pace per lap.

Is it possible to retroactively change elements of a workout like this to reflect the correct amount of activity in my dashboard?

Hey hey hey @Morango, it is great to see new faces around! 🙂 Let me see if I understood, so you want to know it is possible to edit the swimming that was already logged, right? If so, let me tell you that once an activity has been automatically tracked (like your swim in this case) only the name can be edited. Not an other information.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions!

Boo.

The pool I swim in regularly switches between long-course and short-course, and depending on which end you swim in when the bulkhead is in, the length is either 25 yards or 25 meters. I don't always remember to change this setting and I rarely take my phone on deck with me, so it would be helpful if this could be edited after the fact.

Hi! With the Charge 3 I managed at least to change the total lenght. E.g. I had set 25m pool by mistake but I was in a 50m pool. It said I did 900m and I could change it to 1800m. Doing that it kept the number of laps and it changed the pool to 50m and updated the calories count. Not ideal but better than nothing, not sure if you could do that with yours. Hope fitbit will give the opportunity to change the pool lenght or to recognise it automatically in the future.

What about if I started the tracking manually?

Oh yes! Swimming in the pool equals a very good workout, especially if you swim in a special pool where you can ask for help or advice from a trainer. However, swimming in your own pool is just as effective. It is a very good way to do it. It's like burning muscles, a pleasant fatigue after a workout. Wow effect. It was here  that I learned about the right device I should choose to clean my pool. After all, it is necessary to conduct a workout in cleanliness, isn't it? Take care of yourself and stay toned. It is very important!
