walking exersice tracked as the crow flies

I walk every day around noontime. until a little over 2 weeks ago it showed my exact path that i walked. since then it shows sections of my walk as straight lines as to crow flies. this makes the distance and calories burn wildly under stated. however, steps and time seem relatively accurate. Is there a setting that I can not find or maybe a fix. I have restarted the device several times with no change.

Thank You

@jerryryansr  Please check your phone's GPS settings and make sure nothing has changed.  Please make sure you aren't in a low power mode.  Also, some iPhone users are having problems with Fitbit App tracking.  Do you use an iPhone?

Hi

I have the same issue and use an iPhone. I can’t find GPS settings anywhere even using the search function.

@Stig258   This can be a little confusing on the surface.  The GPS permission comes from Location Access.

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  • Swipe up to Fitbit
  • Make sure Background App Refresh is toggled On
  • Make sure Location is set to Always
  • In that same section, make sure Precise Location is toggled On

You make sure you aren't in a low power mode by tapping on Battery on the Settings page.  It's in the group that has General at the top of the section.  I will add that I don't use this feature to track walks as I wear a Sense 2 with different features.

Help article with relevant section expanded for you.

Thank you, I’ve checked settings and they are all as you’ve highlighted. I’ll see what happens when I go walking today.

Your reply is much appreciated and helpful, thank you.
