Is anyone still motivated to do their aerobic exercises even at this temperature or lower? My hands & feet are freezing which deters my goal of reaching 6,000 - 7,500 steps a day. Or is this cold temperature just an excuse to not complete my cardio? Who has done their cardio exercise at 0 degrees Celsius / 32 degrees Fahrenheit?

It's an excuse. Everyone that lives in the PNW (including BC) should have winter gear (water proof and warm) to get thru the many months of unpleasant weather. Each year I hit the "it's too wet or cold" myself and have to push past it. Yesterday is was 28 degrees when I was out with the dogs. They even have winter gear. The first 15 minutes were COLD, but after a bit we warmed up and enjoys the fresh air. If you need advice of gear, REI is an excellent starting place. Bundle up, step out, and enjoy the lovely area you live in. 🙂

Zero celsius or lower is what we have from November to March. Sometimes it’s a lot lower than that (see this post). If you live in a place with cold weather for an extended part of the year, you should get proper gear so you can be outdoors in (nearly) all temperatures.

It has been about 40 and it is so, so cold for me in the morning. I thought I'd wait until afternoon when it was warmer but I starting skipping altogether. So I got some mittens (for me much more warm than gloves) and a base layer with two jackets and I'm doing it in the morning again. I am not warm until the last 5 minutes of my run but I feel good again.

Even with mittens and socks INDOORS, I'm still freakin freezing. It's not a motivating environment but hell I'll try to maintain my exercise routine if I can.

I normally more active in the winter than in the spring. There are so many things to do outside in the cold weather. Like, today, I plan on taking a hike through town to look at the new snow covered from yesterday. Yesterday, was more about rushing to mass and then to a family party. Today, I am not rushing and I only have a family party to go to.
Normally, I would be hiking through the forest preserve and possibly cross-country skiing. Although, we still didn't get enough snow for that.
Depending on the lake, I may even go ice fishing. Although, it is looking more and more like I won't go this year. My equipment needs some cleaning and sharping.
Not to mention winter camp. The campers have a two hour minimum of outdoor activity. Unless weather and wind play a role.

exhile: I ran outside for over 25 years everyday in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. I ran whenever the temp was above 0 degrees F or the windchill was above -20 degrees F. I just dressed in polypro next to my body with a long sleeve cotton shirt and Nylon wind pants and jacket, stocking cap and cotton gloves. I ran early in the morning when the wind was minimal, most of the time I took my gloves off half way through my run because I was so warm. The secret is to dress in layers and have something next to the skin that wicks the moisture away from the body.
