Hello everyone,
I am 56 and have lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks (I need to go down about 50 lbs to go). Also, my heart needs to get vital and healthy.
I am not sure which one is right; Should I do 1000 steps every hour until 10000 steps or keep going till 10000 steps?
Thanks.

You should do at least 250 steps every hour. It's more important to move during the whole day than doing one exercise and doing nothing for the rest of the day. So moving all day and take a long walk.
Moving more makes you lose weight. But make sure you're having fun. Enjoy nature if you can. Enjoy the people in the city. Moving is far more important than weight loss. Weight loss is the bonus for moving.
Check our my clockface (you can have it for free) and give me feedback.

Mario,
Thank you so much! Yes, I walk every day due to acid reflux and felt a weird heart last week, but now, I feel fantastic. My average steps are between 10K-15K per day using the treadmill with TV (YouTube), which makes me enjoy watching. Of course, I walk outside like cut the grass, car wash, hiking, etc.
Sure I would love to have your clockface. Thank you again.

I know the conventional wisdom suggests moving frequently throughout the day is the best for losing weight, but in my case at least, moving even 1,000 steps per hour doesn't do diddly-squat for me. Unless I concentrate my activities into one long effort, all of the hourly movement doesn't amount to anything. Said another way, as long as I do anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 steps in one shot, then it matters not whether I sit on my backside for the rest of the day, or if I do other activities; the key is the one concentrated exercise session.
