13.16 miles and 23,162 steps...before breakfast!

Walked a half-marathon this morning for the first time in almost 5 years.  I'm feeling pretty fit for someone that the government classifies as "obese" on thos ridiculosly stupid BMI charts.

First of all, nice walk !!

You can be fit and overweight. You can be a normal weight and not fit.

All models are wrong, some models are useful. BMI isn't perfect but it works for most people. Statistically speaking, the number of people misclassified as obese per BMI is less than 5%.

If you think you fall into that category then you can always use body fat % as a better indicator. I just bought the Aria scale a week ago and love it. I also have a hand held device that was only about $30.

Of course if you really want to know with more accuracy, you can have your body fat measured via hydrostatic weighing, a body pod or DEXA scan.
