Accuracy of Calorie Count of Walking in Place

I get most of my steps during the day from walking in place, being that i work a desk job. I log my calories and always try to stay within the range it's allotted. What I'm wondering is, are the calories burned from "walking" still accurate if i was stepping in place? I don't want to go over just because my Fitbit thinks I'm walking at a forward pace when really I'm stomping in the same spot.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi @Dntstalkme,

That's a great question. The good news is that calorie counts are based on the heart rate activity, and should give accurate results for walking in place, jumping rope, skipping along. Even if you sat in one place and started breathing quicker to pick up the heart rate, that would burn calories also.
