Active Minutes

I read through the article on how they are calculated-seems a bit convoluted but it is what it is.

What does the number on my dashboard represent?  Are minutes 1-9 ignored?  If I am active for 20 minutes am I awarded 2 minutes since it requires 10 minutes to count as active?

My understanding is if you exercise 11 minutes straight, you will get 11 minutes. You can get away with a short break, but I don't know how short.

You mean this help article?

If you're active for 9 minutes I assume you won't get anything for it, but if you're active for 10 or more you'll definitely get credit all of those minutes including the first 9.

I think the same is true for steps but I'm not sure where the threshold is for that. My Blaze kicks starts counting after around six as far as I know, but those first steps are also included in the count.

Most step trackers, even hip-based ones, does this as far as I know.

Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

Like the other two posters said, when you walk 10 minutes, you get 10 active minutes. But, if you get 9 minutes and then 5 minutes later you don't get active minutes. 🙂

Long enough to get my sweatshirt off and tie it on my waist, but that is it! 😄
