Hello all,
Like several others, I got my flex tracker for Christmas, so I'm really on day one today. I'm a 57 year old male who used to stay in shape until I made a career change to working with software. Gradually over the last 10 years or so, I've let myself gradual decay until now I'm about 40 lbs overweight. I would like to get back to a healthy weight by Spring. I should also mention most of my job involves traveling so I am forced to eat out more often than I would like.
As I mentioned, I used to stay in pretty good shape with running the weight training, so I pretty much know the rules. As with most things, I tend to go overboard and have devoted many hours to research on how the body looses weight and builds muscle, so be happy to help answer any questions anyone may have who is realatively new to fitness.
I set up my food plan today and stayed under it. I will not make my 10k steps today as I had to work (which means sitting in front of a computer) much of the day, but did manage to do 25 min on the bowflex at lunch and 30 min on the treadmill this evening after dinner. As of this writing I"m a little over 6k.
I'll probably intake about 1500 calaries today and my total out so far is a bit over 2k, so the deficit has begun. I'm shooting for about 1.5 to 2 lbs a week. If anyone is just interested in sharing the journey through mutual encouragement, I'm a willing partner.
Anyway, glad to be here and hope to give and get the encouragement we all need.
Tom

Tom - I have been into fitness for quite some time but am not an expert. I am using the Charge I got for Christmas. Any idea on how it tracks strength training or how to have that accounted for into the fitness tracking? Also, I have noticed when I use the Stairmaster, which is intense for me at level 7 and going 127 floors, it doesn't seem to count it even as steps.
