Ankle vs wrist for curling/paddling/ice climbing

Ok. So I do a variety of sports but curling is by far the one that perplexed me regarding my fit bit.

I could theoretically move it to my ankle, but then I lose the heart rate monitor - which I’m rather fond of. However with it on my wrist when I sweep I gain a ton of extra steps on my vigorous sweeping.

The same applies to ice climbing , extra swings = extra steps not exactly taken. But curling is the one I'm most perplexed by. Discuss politely please and thank you.

Pros. Cons. How awesome curling is.

Hi, @Redly! Big fan of your activities! I would suggest the ankle in general. I've actually found that if I position the tracker well on the ankle, it still picks up the heart rate activity. Definitely be careful with the climbing, though! I'm guessing inside the gloves is safer, but I've wrecked a couple of trackers' screens forgetting to take them off before getting up on the rocks. If you can't swing the size for the ankle, a rubber band or two works pretty well to hold it in place.

any wrist tracker will pick up false steps while doing anything that vigorously moves your arm..clapping, driving in bumpy conditions, shoveling, etc. I am not sure that I would be upset though by having your activity count as steps. I know you aren't doing it with your feet- but you are doing one of the most active things you could be with your arms- why not get "credit" for the effort?
