I'm sure that most of the Fitbit community uses the it to loose weight but there have to be a group of people who, like me, use Fitbit purely for entertainment and to see how much energy we waste just doing our daily activities. I gave one to a girlfriend who loves it because she thinks it's neat but has no use for additional exercise other than to tease her overweight friends because of thier lack of performance.

U R right... because of the obesity epidemic in this country, it is assumed that you exercise to loose weight. Yes I could probably loose about 5 pounds but my BMI is within normal range. I am older so I exercise to maintain health. Yes we need a group to motivate for longevity! Fitness is just as important as weight loss. You start the group, I will join!

I'd love to be in this group!
I've been doing what works for me for over a year. The cool thing now is that I have Fitbit that easily records my Activity and GO-Meal and Fitness Tracker where I can easily record the food I eat - I'm having a blast putting the 2 together on a daily basis to get the visual reprentation of my healthy lifestyle! (Unfortuanetly the timelines go in opposite directions but that's ok).
I would love to see the visual of other people's daily habits - food and activity.
I don't know how to start a group but would love to be part of it. Thanks!

Hi PollyW - I was exactly the same way with food tracking. I used to be an overweight triathlete and my coach wanted me to track all my food in Training Peaks but I just hated the tedium of it.
I personally just don't have the patience for calorie counting in any program and for me my foods were too difficult to track - and if I was going to estimate then what's the point?
Now I use GO app, choose the traffic light color and plate size, take a picture (or represent the food item later if it's inappropriate to take a pic at the time) and I'm done.
I've been at ideal weight for over a year and I'm always asked how I stay so thin. Now I can just show people my screenshots and say this: "I eat high quality, healthful foods and use that nutrition to MOVE."
I'm excited about how easy it is to show my 2 apps (GO and Fitbit) in the same iphone screenshot and have a visual representation of my healthy days.

Because the GO app (Lolofit.com makes it) is super easy to use on the Food side and Fitbit is super easy to use on the Activity side - I use them separately. The screen shot I take of the 2 apps while they're open is my visual representation of my days.
I know some people swear by calorie counting, and I really respect that if it's working for them, it has just never worked for me so I was thrilled to have something totally different to log my food.
I have a slight cholesterol issue so nutrition is more important to me than calories (that may or may not be accurate) so GO keeps me visually accountable on the Food side, and now Fitbit keeps me accountable - quick and easy - on the Activity side.

It's not only to lose weight - it's to keep you on track for a healthy lifestyle in addition to losing weight - at least that's what I use it for ! Your weight loss doesn't always stay where it is supposed to be 🙂 and if I want to maintain an "active" schedule - which I will for the rest of my life - Fitbit is for me - I have tried every imaginable diet and nothing ever worked, and if it did, my weight loss would come back - plus more!

I love this. Fit bit is fun and using it for entertainment is perfect! We take ourselves way too seriously!

Thank you. I can create a group. We just need a name. Any ideas?
I had a couple,
Anybody interested in forming this group can reply with names and when we are ready I will create this group for people who want to work on fitness without weight loss.
