Best/Favorite clock faces? My votes are...

I sometimes kill time trying out clock faces.  The perfect one hasn't been created yet, but from what I can gather so far - the more options the clock face has the harder it is on the Ionic battery.

For free, my favorites are:

#1 Favorite free - Linear Clockface.  Love the fact that you can change the font boldness and how it dims late at night.  Everything is easy to read and I *love* the colors.  My wife will not use anything else on her Ionic.

ActivStatFace:  Would be #1 for me if I could just make the time font smaller or adjust the colors.  Also I'd probably swap the calorie counter for distance in miles and (IMO) calorie counting / floors etc. are something I'd look at at the end of the day; not something I need to track during the day.

Simple - Used this for a long time until the new clock faces came out.

Fine Clock:  (Lovely, simple to read - I just get annoyed when the time is displayed on two lines.  It's simple though and shows me everything I need (Time/Date/Steps/HR/battery).

FlashRing:  Just a tad too much info all at once, but a very pretty face.

Paid face:

HeartRate watch - It's great to see that heartrate graph - I swore I'd never "buy" a clock face, but for $1 it is well worth it.  It's my current watch face.

Cons:  With the 90 second dim mode, it can eat up your battery much quicker, but very functional.

Anyone else?

Hi there @Shield, nice to see you are visiting the Fitbit Community! I was reading your picks and very nice choices I must say. I agree with all your picks, but there is one in particular that we have in common and this is the Fine Clock. I loved how simple and nice looking it has.

If I may, my favorites are the original ones; released with the launch of the Ionic tracker. Specially the Gauge clock face and my personal favorite, Flare. In fact this is the one I got in use since I loved the color scheme and the gradients which in my opinion gives a dramatic look with the clock in the center.

Nice post @Shield, just a heads up. I took the liberty to moved your post to our discussion forums since the topic can get more attention here than in our help forums.

See you later and stay awesome.

Strongly agree with you about Linear Clockface. It is the one I keep coming back to, even though a couple of months since your post, there are many more options. In addition to your comments, I love the linear gauges that show progress without taking space on the screen like a circle does. I love having the stats in two groups, so whatever you want to see is never more than one tap away. I like having the weekday as well as month & day.

My only gripe with Linear is a couple of minor bugs:

  • The linear gauges for FLR and KCAL jump to complete as soon as there is any data. The picture in the gallery shows the FLR one working. Is it just me?
  • The time font goes back to bold whenever the face reloads, after exiting an app.

Thanks for pointing out Fine Clock. I like it well, but I miss the linear gauges. The hour/minute on different lines bugs me too, but it does make it nice to read when pulling up my long sleeve.

For paid faces, ASK and ASK Weather are worth a look. They use linear gauges ("progress beams") like Linear Clockface. They put them all on the screen at once, which has pros and cons. In the end, it's cluttered for me--the above faces are more soothing.

Heartrate would make a nice app.

I'm currently using the Flat Jarvis watchface. I'm a huge superhero fan so this stuck out to me when I read it was based off of Iron Man's Jarvis. Also a big fan of FitCircles, HUD@, and Arrow.

Flat Jarvis is my favorite too except that the temp quit working.  I switched to Hearty but will switch back to Jarvis is the temperature gets fixed.

I love to see what clock faces everyone uses!  I feel like I haven't found "the one" yet, so I tend to switch often.

The one I'm loving right now is "Arrows".  It's a paid face, but you can literally customize everything and it has a very clean design and gives me the stats I want to see.

Flat Jarvis was still my favorite except the developer updated the clock face and the update process doesn't work.  It requires you to log in (which you are already logged in in or to get to the clock faces), then grant permissions.  Once you do that, you just go to a white blank page and.... nothing.

I've tried this several times during the last two days with the same result so I've moved on to the ASK Farin clock face.  I'm liking this clock face a lot as it shows weather, steps, heart rate, stairs, calories, date and time plus it has attractive colors.  Tap the upper right corner and you get current, high and low temps for the day and battery status.  You can change the colors by tapping the middle of the screen.

I'll give this one a big five stars.

Hey genome,

First of all a brief introduction, we are the developers of Flat Jarvis and Tesla X clockfaces.

Do you use a Windows Phone by any chance? We have another user with this same issue (blank screen after login) and we found out that this is an issue with Windows Phone + login component.

We are already working to solve this issue but let us know if your case is any different.

In answer to your question, I have a Samsung android, not windows phone.  Anyway, I've already spent too much time fussing with this so I have moved on to the ASK Farin clock face which I like a lot.
