Can any of the Fitbit trackers be used whilst playing cricket?

Hi guys

I've got the Fitbit flex for a few days now and was wondering if anyone uses their trackers whilst playing cricket or even whilst training in the nets or outdoors?

I'd also like to know if it's feasible wearing it during a match and if it would hold up taking some abuse whilst fielding(diving and sliding), bowling, batting (especially with swinging movements of the arm when batting), and whether things like sunblock and excessive perspiration would damage the tracker and/or the wristbands (I'm using the Flex).

I've actually used it for a few training sessions in activity logging mode and the readings seemed really accurate, especially after adjusting walking and running stride lengths.

I'd just like to know if theres anyone on the forums/fitbit community that has tried this, it's similar to playing baseball...

Thanks in advance

Overall I don't see a problem in wearing your flex during cricket. It shouldn't be any different from wearing it during a football match. However, it is relatively easy for the actual flex to come out of its holder and THAT is what I would worry about. If you slid on your wrist and twisted the band it could come off or rip or the flex could pop out. I would be worried about any wrist device (watch, bracelet) in this respect. I am trying to think of an alternative. If you have pockets you could safety pin the band into your pocket. You  might be better just manually logging the activity and not wearing your flex. This is sad as cricket is the type of activity the flex does very well tracking, but then you would be sure to get credit for the workout without risking damage or loss. I'm not sure what I would do... maybe experiment with different ways to carry the flex and see what results you get? There are wrist bands that are designed to carry an mp3 player or phone while you are jogging. You could put the flex in one of those and at least know you wouldn't damage the band or lose the actual device.

Hey there @Mrids ! You won't encounter any problem wearing your Flex during any of these activities. My only recomendation would be to clean it more often than usual since you mentioned the sunblock and perspiration, to prevent any sediment staying on your tracker's contacts or the wristband itself.

My dad who is an EMT (not the same thing, I know!) wears a Flex and is in love with it, since it keeps tracking when he's holding the gurney or equipment. He has not encountered any problem with any of the substances they use to clean, sterilize and help patients.

Good luck and happy holidays! Smiley Very Happy

Just don’t use it for high impact.
shoveling or digging will mess the screen up quickly.
Not high impact shock resistant

I have the Ionic.
I would like to wear it during cricket.
Please provide some ideas. I can’t wear it on my arm because the band is to small.
