I am a swimmer and want to know if I can swim with the fitbit and if it will record my activity?

Hi
I ask fitbit that exact same question and they told me that I can swim with it in pool water and salt water as long as I am not exceeding 10 metres but it will record the activity that I am doing I hope that helps

I don't know if it varies from model to model, but the Fitbit One manual clearly states that it is not waterproof and should not be worn for swimming. It's probably best to check the manual for your model before risking damaging it.
Hope this helps

ONLY the Flex can be warn while swimming. Not so with any other models.

In reality, swimming is not a "step based activity", so I'm not sure what info you would be collecting while wearing a fitbit... For me, I'd take it off when swimming for that reason alone.

I do a shallow water aerobics class once a week - I have the little fitbit zip - and I tuck it into a little ziplock bag, and then put the resulting package in another little ziplock baggy...I tuck it into the bra of my bathing suit, and it logs my movements without getting wet....

Yes you may swim in your fitbit without damaging it (I do)- mine doesn't count unless I swim VERY aerobicly. I use a lapcounter ring and enter the information underactivities on my dashboard. The only time I take ithe flex off is to charge it.
