Collagen injections for Knee osteoarthritis

FYI:  The American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons no longer recommends collagen injections for patients with OA of the Knee.  The American Association of Rheumatology conditionally recommends collagen injections for people over 75 years of age, the Osteoarthritis Research Society International deems collagen shot incertain for Knee OA.

Healthysean:  Have you ever sprained your ankle?  How many times?  In a recent article published by The University Of Wisconsin Department of Sports Medicine found no relationship between running and OA.  Arthritis of the ankle joint was more likely due to Rheumatoid Arthritis and it subsequent joint deformity, injuries such as fractures and repeated ankle sprains.  Once an ankle is sprained, the ligament is either torn or stretched and once it is healed can no longer offer the ankle the dynamic stability it once had.  This lack of dynamic stability made lead to foot deformities that over time could lead to OA.
