Comfy gear for fat runners

I've started the couch to 5k program, really enjoying it so far although I'm only on week 3.

I was hoping someone could recommend me some good sports brands that cater to curvier women, namely running bottoms. I hate it when my bottoms start slipping down over my tummy, I like to feel in control around the tummy area and so far I'm running in my "skinny" stretch jeans with a belt cinched tight, as all the sports bottoms I've tried just work their way down after I've been running for a few minutes. Would love to add more comfort to my run as I progress through the program, and I wonder if anyone has been in the same position?

I have the exact same problem--pants slipping down over my belly. I found these yoga pants in the Rite Aid in my building when I went down to get stockings to put beneath my pants (because DC was going through a cold snap). And somehow they work! I don't run, I do the indoor fitness walks, but it's nice not having to constantly pull up my pants.

If you can try on running pants or yoga pants before you buy them, jump around in them a bit and make sure they don't slide down your belly.

Few years ago when I started running, I had the same issue. Then I found running pants/capris (I use North face and Nike ones) which comes with string to tie around your waist. So it will not slip down. I don't know where you are from. But here in Canada, I find these in Costco, Walmart or even in Sportchek. Also there are some running shorts (Running Room brand) which is perfect for summer time.

Good luck.

I'm not sure where you are located, but I'm in Canada and really like yoga pants for working out (weights, cardio, and yoga) from Mark's and Addition Elle.  These ones from Addition Elle have the most support in the waist and tummy area, I feel really sucked in and controlled but still comfortable in them. I find the waist bands super comfy in these ones, they are super soft and stretchy, I'm wearing them right now because I couldn't deal with "professional" pants today and can't get away with wearing pj's to work Smiley Very Happy.  I also have a pair of UnderArmour pants, these, that are soft and don't ride down, but they don't have any support.

Ah thanks guys! I'm based in the UK but I can generally find most brands online somewhere or another, I will have a look at some of your suggestions, thank you!

I am currently wrapping up week 7 of C25K - I am loving it as well!

As far as tights, I definitely recommend something with a drawstring. I have an hourglass figure, which is a fancy way of saying that I have wide hips and narrow waist. The struggle of finding tights that don't slip is very real!

Right now I am loving New Balance tights. I have about 5 pairs and they all have a drawstring. My favorites are these (all Amazon links):

Accelerate Tights

Impact Tights

Accelerate Capri

I also purchased tights from other brands, such as Asics and Adidas, but New Balance is my favorite. They really suit my figure best and the quality is great.

I have a pair of running pants from Old Navy with a wide band at the waistline. They rarely slip and I've worn them under dresses to streamline my figure in addition to running. They're slightly thicker so they're great for cooler weather runs too.
