That speed walking is easier than walking slow. I walk non stop speed walking except the final cool down lap. That is the worse of all laps, as it makes me tired. So, I speed that up until I have only 1 block of my final walkacise left, then I slow down, but not too slow as I would be too tired to walk home.
Put on some fast pace music and walk to the beat. Initially I could only walk to a love song. Now, techno music is very simple for me, non stop for 5.5 miles. Remember if you can't talk while you walk, you are walking too fast. I can sing and talk to everyone on the path just so I do not have to stop to do it. Try it for a short span and post.

GHO,
What is your pace when you speed walk? I normally poke along at 3.5 MPH for around 1-1.5 hours over a 2.5-4 mile distance over trails and up and down slopes.
