Daily Run Recommendations

I wanted to run yesterday. The Fitbit "Coach" tab showed "Today's Run."

It was called "Easy Run," I tapped it and it showed details of the suggested "Easy Run" and the intervals it contained. It was to be

:5 min warm up  --  :11 mins run  --  :2 min rest  --  :11 mins run -- :5 min cool down

At the bottom of the "Easy Run" was a button to "Start on Watch," and I pushed that. On my new Pixel Watch 3 the run popped up, it connected to GPS, and then I pushed the start Arrow on my watch to begin the easy run.

I started off easy and at :5 mins it buzzed and told me to run.  Then a big silence. In the middle of the run I wasn't sure what was going and didn't want to fiddle with the watch.  After :23 minutes the watch buzzed and told me to rest. After :2 minutes it told me to run again.  I ran and by that time was near my home so after several minutes of running I swiped over and clicked the "next" button. That took me to the :5 minute cool down.  Then it ended after that.

I Workout Builder created this :11 minute easy run interval, however while running I didn't receive any prompts from the watch until the :23 minute mark.

In that first interval was I supposed to know it was at :11 minutes and tap something, or is it a bug in the Pixel Watch 3/Fitbit Run workout? Why would a run have an :11 minute interval, I'm running, and it ends up moving to the next interval after :23 minutes?

"...a powerful new tool for runners: it helps you plan your runs with an all-new run workout builder, guides you through them with real time guidance, and lets you reflect on your progress every step of the way in a new Run Dashboard in the Fitbit app. It even uses advanced motion tracking and machine learning to analyze your form to help you run more efficiently and improve performance."

and

After another run I got the same behavior.  Coming straight to the issue. After choosing today's run, starting it on the watch, beginning the run here is the issue.

At the end of  a "run" interval there is no alert.  I with earbuds in I get alerts, buzz, and voice.   "warm up for five minutes"  then "begin running for eleven minutes." as I am running I look down at my watch and see it tick from 10:50 until 11:15 and there is no alert it just keeps on going.

Yesterday I swiped and clicked the "next" button, then there was a buzz, and a voice saying "cool down for five minutes."

End of interval alerts are not happening in my daily suggested run.

I called Fitbit help number. I spoke for :30 mins and they said it was a Google Pixel Watch 3 problem and I should call a different number for Google Pixel Watch.

I called the second number, and the Google person began to say it was a Fitbit problem and I cut him off and re-explained my earlier call.

He double checked my app version and asked me to conduct a test run and call back.  Of course I did a text two miles and it did give the alert at the end of the running interval.  Grrr.

I'm going to go out again now and try it again.

Hello @chris_in_cal

I got an update for the Fitbit app on my Pixel Watch 3 this morning (17 Jan 2025). You might want to check the Play store app on your Pixel watch to see if the update is available for you to download & install.

So far, I haven't seen any information on the Pixel Watch Fitbit app update and what issues it fixes. Hopefully, it includes the fix to the problem you've been experiencing.

Please let us know if you are still seeing the same issue after installing the app update on your Pixel watch.
