Definitions of FitBit Exercises i.e. Weights, Workout etc...

Hi there,

I have just purcased the Charge 2 and noticed that the way exercise is lodged has changed. You can now choose between different types i.e Weights, Run, Treadmill, Workout, Elipitcal etc...I was just wondering what FitBit's definitions of these were?

I am doing a boxing/cardio class tonight and would like to know which category would work best??

Thanks 🙂

I don’t think there are any formal definitions. Many are self-explanatory (e.g. walk, elliptical). I’d consider "Workout" as a generic form of exercise that you could use for anything that doesn’t fit in any of the other categories. Your boxing/cardio class would sound like a good candidate for "Workout".

Anyway, regardless of the activity you select, your Charge 2 will still track your steps (if any), your heart rate, the intensity of your activity (impacts etc.) and it will come with a calorie estimate for your workout that should be reasonably accurate. And even if it is not perfectly accurate, it will also track your activity during the remaining 23 hours of the day, and if you’re interested in calories, this is the number (total energy expenditure for the day) you should look at.
