Difference between "trainer" on the dashboard and "steps"? -

On the dashboard there is something listed as trainer and another listed as steps. ? I welcome any help?

The trainer is a feature that keeps track of your Activity calories -- those that are above your Basal Metabolic Rate.  You use the Trainer to gradually increase your activity calories or keep them constant depending on your current goal. 

 

This is helpful if you burn a lot of calories that are not step-based.  Like swimming, resistant exercises, and so on.
