The subject is the question. Is it better to just make the fitbit a constant?

I just bought my Fitbit on 1/1/15 and I have a Windows phone. It syncs with the app just fine. I have a Nokia 635.

As often as possible. My Flex only came off with charging, Charge only for showering and charging. And occasionally when doing something that could damage / interfere with them - eg. Flex going in and out of into sleep mode by accident.
My take on it is - the more they are on, the more representative of your activity they are, and the more useful the info you get back from them is.
The more you wear them, the more you get used to wearing them and the more likely you are to notice when you don't have them on (feeling naked without fitbit syndrome). Which feeds back into to wearing them more, and getting better info from them.

I wear my Flex 24/7 except for when it's charging. I let my battery get low before I charge it. I also just started taking my Flex off when I take a bike ride because it tracked steps during my ride when I wasn't actuallly getting steps.

Another one for wearing my Fitbit 24/7 except for when it's chargoing or I'm showering. Otherwise the times I haven't been wearing it have been the most annoying, like when I feel my watch slipping around my wrist when I'm out for a run because I've left my fitbit on charge!
Then I'm very upset

I'll repeat for the benefit of new FitBit members. Although these devices are "water proof" they can still be damaged by being submerged. There are also people who report the charging holes degrading after repeated water exposure. It might be better to err on the side of caution and take off your device for bathing or swimming.

Do people tend to wear the fitbit around the clock?
Nope, I usually wear mine around the wrist.

I'd like to jump into this thread to quote our Specs Page for the ChargeHR:
Water Resistance
Charge HR is sweat, rain and splash proof. However, the device is not swim proof or showerproof. With any wearable device, it’s best for your skin if the band stays dry and clean.
You can get more details on the Charge HR in our product manual.
Let me know if you have any questions, happy stepping!

Yep that's what the Spec's page says.. but my guess is it's there to void the warrenty if you try swim with it and have problems. I'm not gonna swim with mine I was just passing along that it seems it isn't really a problem .. IMO .. 😉

I teach water aerobics one night a week and since the Charger cant get wet, I try to remember to take it off and chage it before I leave and It' always fully charged when I return (about two hours charging,)
I do wish it was water safe, which it clearly isn't, judging by many posts. The instructions are somewhat ambiguous about getting them wet. It would be great if they actually made them waterproof, since swimming and water sporst are pretty active as well as popular.
Can you hear me fitbit developers? We want them waterproofed. It summer, lots of people race to the beaches and hop in. Some go diving, snorkeling, boogie boarding. These are active avtivities.as well as wet ones.
