Does MapMyWalk double my stats?

Hi. I can't seem to find the answer to this. I use Map My Walk and press the side button on my Fitbit Charge HR. The stats both come up in my dashboard. They are not totally alike but close, and that is fine. I don't think my steps are being doubled, but is anything else doubled or does Fitbit know that it has already been counted. Thanks!

It can double it can take away. I have seen both.

The button press causes an Activity Record to be created - merely a snapshot of the Fitbit stats for that block of time for easy review later - rather than be buried in the daily stats.

The sync brings across a Workout Record, same as you manually logging it on Fitbit if they share step/distance info, otherwise a tad different and only calorie count is brought over.

Than replaces whatever Fitbit came up with.

So at that point, your Activity Record could be incorrect stats if just replaced, but the snapshot is held anyway.

It does allow comparing though, if you trust MMW as more accurate for distance, and you see the record is wrong by Fitbit's estimate of distance - time to correct your stride length if big enough difference.

But it doesn't double it up unless you have the time different, than not doubling exactly, but whatever the mismatch is.
