Fitbit Alta Owner, Curious about Blaze

Hello all!

I am a very proud Fitbit user and I purchased a Alta back in about March. I love it, it's an awesome upgrade from the Flex, however, I'm super curious about the blaze. I love the idea and style of it. Please chime in, pros, cons, is it worth the money and hype? Thanks 🙂

I own the Blaze, and I wear it most of the time.  I only have one issue with the Blaze.  The GPS tracking is not very accurate for most users.  Your phone determines accuratcy, and my iPhone 6s, is not very good.  Which is odd, because apps on the phone track accurately.  Just the Blaze does not.

The accuracy is an issue when it comes to pace times.  My wife and I walked the same 3 mile course.  At mile one my Surge showed a pace of 20:30, her Blaze showed 22:30.  Which is dead wrong.

But I love the color display, it's lighter than my Surge.  I love the swappable bands.  So if I need to go down a size, I can.  The leather band is very comfortable compared to the rubber ones.

I've had a few glitches with the heart rate monitor that required me to turn the watch off, and back on.

But on the whole I like the tracker a lot.  If they get the connected GPS working properly, I'dl love the tracker.

Thank you for such a great response! I don't know much about the GSP tracking so it's good to know that it is a little funky. Is that automatic or can you choose not to do it? For me that's never been something that is very important.

I have the Charge HR, and have been considering "upgrading" to the Blaze. It has basically the same functionality as the HR, but I like the screen display of the Blase and think it would be better for me.  I looked at getting one at Sam's Club, with the 3-year extended warranty, but they are out of stock on the size large and don't have an estimated availability date for them. So, for now, the HR will keep getting a workout!

Like @JohnRi, I’ve been using the Surge and the Blaze, side-by-side (for an extensive period of time, Surge on left arm, Blaze on right). The Blaze is more stilish and comfortable to wear. It also has better battery life (especially if you use GPS a lot on the Surge, something the Blaze cannot do). However, what I like about the Surge is the fact its display (although far less sexy) is turned on all the time. What you will miss if/when you move away from the Alta is the "reminder to move" feature. I really wish other Fitbits had it.

Oh sad day, I love the reminders to move. I didn't know that was exclusive to the Alta.

The only time it would be on, is if you had a cell phone connected with GPS enabled, and the fitbit app open.

Otherwise it would track using steps like the Alta does.
