Im curious as to how cardio fitness score is calculated. The reason I ask is because my cardio fitness score is 82 (supposedly) and that feels maybe too high. My heart rate is about 120-30 when I do 5k, which I run in about 19 minutes.
Could anyone tell me a) how its calculated and b) How it compares to the average?

If the 'cardio score' is supposed to approximate VO2 max, then 82 is quite high. It is age & sex dependent, but for a 30 yr old male, a 19 minute 5k calculates out to about VO2 max = 53 (Still quite good). You can find a calculator for VO2 max from known performance here. (sorry it is in Dutch, but easy to figure out) They also predict various race times from a given VO2 max, 82 for a 30 yr old man would predict a 13:00 minute 5k. Basically, 82 is world class (e.g. 3:52 mile), I would first suspect your heart rate of ~125 while running 6-min mile pace for extended periods (check with a chest strap) . Even if you are quite fit at age 28, I would expect HRs more like 150-180 for that sort of effort (conservative/book max HR 192)
