Fitbit Device Combo

What is the best fitbit device combo? How many fitbit device you own? and Why?

For me, it’s any Fitbit tracker and the Aria scale. As far as trackers, I’ve been using the One, the Charge, the Charge HR, the Surge and the Blaze. Each has their pros and cons. The Surge is currently my main tracker. What I like about it: display is always on, built-in GPS can be handy; what I like less about it: battery life could be better (GPS depletes the battery quite quickly), it’s a bit bulky (cumbersome when using business shirts with long sleeves). The nice thing about the Aria: it integrates seamlessly with my Fitbit account, so I now have almost three years worth of daily weight and body fat data. The nice thing about Fitbit (as opposed to other brands): it’s a complete "ecosystem", not just a piece of hardware.

I have the Surge, Aria and the Blaze.

Surge I like the always on feature (reallly wish the Blaze had that), and accurate GPS Tracking.  It's big, and clunky, and heavy.  The band breaks, and you can't change the band if you need a smaller one.  (I needed a smaller band and support did let me swap mine out for a smaller band.  But I'm still under warranty.)

The Aria gives me a much better idea of my fitness with it's estimated body fat %.  For example, I was injured and could not walk for 3 weeks. I've only been able to walk for the last 10 days, and I started slow.  Legs were very sore, and I've lost no weight for the last 2 weeks.  BUT my fat % dropped 2%.  So thanks to the Aria, and the reduction in soreness in my legs, I know that I've added muscle, and lost fat.  I just didn't see on the weight side of the scale.  I also just hop on before my morning shower, and really don't look at the number.  I glance at the numbers later on the firtbit app, and look at weekly averages, and overall fat % trends.

The Blaze, except for poor GPS tracking via my iPhone, is superior to my Surge.  So I wear my Blaze all the time, except when I exercise, I switch to the Surge now.  I love that I can swap out bands on the Blaze.  I like it's lighter in weight (Without the GPS I'm sure) and the color display is nice.  If Fitbit comes out with a Blaze with the build in tracking from the Surge, I'd buy it in a second.

I do like how they all work together into the Fitbit website.

It really depends on what you want.

But I use and switch off daily:

Surge: Like the built in GPS

Blaze.: Just a nice looking watch

Charge HR

Alta: The hourly reminder

One: Most accurate for steps IMO

The only Fitbit's I haven't tried are the Alta and the Flex. I have all of the others and all working except the Classic (Rip), I started with the Classic like @WendyB. I don't have an Aria.

I'm currently experimenting with Multi Fitbits on the Android with the Blaze as the primary and the One as the second device. I'm using them concurrently and it seems to sort itself out.  To be on the safe side I'm turning off the Blaze via the screen when I use a shopping trolley and pushing my daughter in her wheelchair.

So far it is positive and I haven't lost any steps through the Blaze tracking low. The One has compensated for that.

The downside is, depending on the precedence of the steps, if the Dashboard sees the One and overwrites, I lose some of the 250+ active minutes. A small price to pay for the step accuracy.

I have found over the years that the One and the Ultra are very accurate for stepping..

I use Surge/Zip/Aria.

I love the Surge (heart rate, text/reminder/call notifications, gps) but sometimes the battery life runs out. So I use a Zip as a backup/second device. This works well with the Zip's 6-month battery life and because more than one device can be used with a single Fitbit profile. Once the Aria is set up, it is very convenient. Although I don't use the Aria all that much anymore, not a big fan of weight scales.

Ditto on the One being a great tracker. Ditto on the value of Fitbit being the whole Fitbit ecosystem.
