Gerd and back/chest pain

Anyone have issues with Gerd and upper back, shoulder and chest pain?  I’m seeing my doctor in a few days, but hope treating Gerd will make my upper body pain go away

yes I have it as well.....check out the net for reflux diet suggestions...also sleeping on your back with some upper body elevation will help...keep your eating to at least an hour prior to bedtime I usually try for 2 hours and leisurely walking after eating to get digestion moving- also smaller meals- don't overfill your stomach.

Hello @ChicagoMatt86   do see your doctor and be sure to make notes of questions you want to ask when you get to the office. My husband had a late night trip to the emergency room for what he thought was a heart attack and it was his acid reflux. He stayed overnight, wore a heart monitor and they told him it was time to take his acid reflux seriously. He experienced pain between the shoulder blades and chest pains. It does require you to be careful with what can trigger the acid problem. My husband is on medication, but it is not a substitute for eating more cautiously. Take this seriously and as @aprildh  said, sleeping while elevated helps. You can do this!

  • I did. It's just acid reflux (and stress making me think it's wise). Just have to learn to eat better and be more active.  I can't wait until my shoulder and back pain gets better

I struggled with reflux, but noted when I mostly eliminated fats and sugar from my daily eating habits it disappeared.
