Did a 5 mile jog/power walk today. 2 minute jog interval, 2 minute power walk interval.
Stayed in zone 4 & 5 most of the time and got a training effect of 5 (max).
I wanted this to be just a regular workout because I was still kind of recovering from my last extreme workout, but I have a habit of pushing it a little too much some times.
But I feel pretty good and may do a recovery walk this evening.

@bcalvanese, well done! 🙂
My first comment was WOW! It sure is flat where you live; I did a similar length run today from my office and according to my activity log, there was a total of 408 feet of vertical gain on that run. 🙂

It is pretty flat at that park which is why I do intervals there. I'm still working my way into jog/power walk intervals, and hill are still a little too much for me yet.
When i do my 7+ mile Tyler Park walk on the weekends, the elevation gain is about 500 feet, and there are several pretty challenging hills (at least for me).
I still do intervals there, but not timing them. I power walk the up hill parts and slow jog the level and down hill parts. One of the level/down hill parts is just about a mile, and I have done that stretch non stop a few times so far.
Not too bad considering I could only jog for 30 seconds when I started this.

@bcalvanese, sounds like a great park; 500' over a 7 mile course is pretty nice, errr, unless that elevation gain all comes within a half mile. 😛
