Has anyone else signed up to run (or walk) their first 5k this year?

ANSWERED

As part of my new fitness goal setting, I signed up to run an 8k race this coming November (a friend posted the link last November and there was a significant price break for early sign up).

At any rate, November is a Loooonnng way away, so I signed up for two 5 k races. The first is 8 weeks away, and I'm at home right now, looking out at the snow falling. Ugh. Just looking for some communtiy commaraderie as I work toward this goal. I'm confident I can do it, but it is a new thing.

Who's with me?

Well done! Signing up is a big step. Lots of people just talk but don't walk (how many times I have heard "I need to do my first 5/10k" but no action ever taken). So congrats! You will see that it is so much easier to nail that goal when you have a real event to train for (and that feeling when things get serious when you receive your first running bib and chip :D). My first race of this year is next week on Sunday (off-road trail half-marathon, not my first ever but first to be run in sub-zero temperatures).
