Hi! So I used the TDEE calculator on iifym.com and mayo clinic. Iifym said that my TDEE is 1250 and Mayo clinic said it was 1450 even though for both I entered sedentary. I am 28, female, 5'3'' 86 lb and I'm not sure which is right, can you please tell me? Thanks so much and happy holidays!

I personally like to use this calculator, which relies on the Mifflin St. Jeor formula (= more or less the same used by Fitbit). With your parameters (F/28/5’3/86) BMR is 1089 and TDEE with sedentary as activity level is 1307. Do you know what formula is being used by the calculators you mentioned?

You’re welcome! Formulas (e.g. Mifflin St. Jeor, Harris Benedict, Katch McArdle) are one thing, but TDEE is something your Fitbit should be able to tell you, providing you are wearing it 24/7. What model do you have and what does it say you’re burning during very low (e.g. less than 4000 steps) and very high (e.g. 20,000 steps) activity days?
