How do I determine which sleep mode is better for me?

I am trying to determine which sleep mode is better for me.  In regular mode it shows I am getting 7 1/2 hours of sleep and in sensitive mode it shows about 4 1/2.  I am usually tired when I get up but do not feel it is sleep apnea.

Which do you feel is more accurate. I found the regular mode to be more accurate for me as Im not really a sensitive sleeper

I have been debating and going back and forth between to two modes.  Because I wake up tired all the time, I considered using the sensitive mode, but I am sure I am getting more that 5 hrs.

I'm somewhere in between. I don't move around much even when awake, so the "restless" meter probably gives an accurate reading of the start time when I wake up, I get less sleep than what is reported.

Im a very new user , as I have severe sleep apnia and use a cpap machine I set mine at sensitive. I also feel very tired alot and I was curious to how many actual productive sleep hours I actually get.

I'm new to fitbit and still feel a little confused by the sleep mode. I have the flex. Occasionally nothing is recorded. Sometimes 7 1/2 hrs or 4 hr and restless. Any tips to know if it is working correctly

Hello,

the following is all i could find , hope this helps ;

Your Fitbit tracker's settings can record your sleep in either "sensitive" mode for extremely detailed sleep reporting or "normal" mode for a more basic idea of your sleep patterns. Adjust your sleep mode in device settings.

  • The normal setting counts significant movements such as rolling over as being awake, and is appropriate for most users.
  • The sensitive setting will cause your tracker to record nearly all movements as time spent awake. This setting may be helpful for users with sleep disorders, or those who wear their tracker somewhere other than the wrist while asleep

If your Fitbit tracker is worn consistently each night with the same setting, the data that it produces should be useful.

For a few days now since ive gotten the one , ive had it set to sensitive and now its been averaging out each sleeptime to be about 65 %. looking at the scale between the two on the sensitive mode it has a greater sampling rate. for me sensitive mode seems more accurate as the other mode seems not (for me as i do have a sleeping disorder, and having a reading that cuts the sleep time in half doesnt seem right, i have tested it with my cpap off just to see what happened between the modes. since i did have a sleep study done a couple of times then i know what it should kinda be on the chart)
