I logged my run as 45 minutes, but I cannot find where the seconds are supposed to be? It definitely was not 45 minutes exactly. How do I find this on the app? Was not a problem with the old design, it seems to be with the new update, seconds do not show 😕

In some ways - there’s still hope. At least that change has happened. It - should - come to iOS then. Next stop, being able to edit the type of exercise. The GPS working. The correct recording of activity, the poor user interface….basically, everything you - could - do in the old app. 😉😂

Hi, I'm on Android. I'm a newbie so hadn't realised the seconds were ever gone.

Hello @vee
As mentioned by other users on this thread, the seconds information has been re-instated for the Android Fitbit app. Hopefully, it won't be too long before iOS users get the fix.

It's so depressing. I didn't think it could get any worse, even, possibly better with the news of the android app getting fixed. But I go for a run on a route I've done periodically for years....and not only is the milage wrong.. it records the thing as a RUN and a WALK at the same time. However, one rounds up, (run - 28 mins), and one rounds down, (walk 27 mins). The time I captured as a screen grab. It was 27mins 20 seconds. I figured I'll go to the Fitbit dashboard to see the seconds as it still records there...and even worse! It doesn't even record that correctly! It's shown as 28 mins and 9 seconds! So, there we have it - the Fitbit that USED to work until the new 'app' - now records the same run incorrectly 4 times! (on time and distance). It's laughable. Support - when raised cannot give me any ETA for this fix.....

I checked the fitbit app on my iphone this morning. The issue has NOT been corrected. But I'm glad for you, android users!
The fitbit app does not provide total run time, just time to the nearest minute. To make matters worse, the app reports the average pace wrong. Instead of dividing total distance by total time to give minutes/mile, it averages the mile splits. That's wrong because the last little bit of a mile (for example, the 0.1 in a 3.1 mile 5k) gets exaggerated weight. So the fitbit app displays total time only to the minute, and the wrong pace per mile.
This is a basic failure with the fitbit app. You don't have to be a stats nerd or crazy athlete to want your total run time and pace per mile (or pace per km) for an activity. Casuals run 5ks all the time!
Until today, I could get the complete information from my watch by logging on to the fitbit.com/activities website. That's inconvenient, but at least I could still use my Charge 5 for training. Today Google eliminated the website. The only source of activity information is the failed app.
This is lazy work by the app developer, and it makes a very fine watch work much worse. The information is recorded on the watch, the user just can;t see it. I don't know who google or fitbit hired to develop their new (11/2023) fitbit app, but that team did a terrible job. The app makes the watch look bad.

Totally incomprehensible that this has not been fixed - it is not fixed any time soon, my next watch will not be a fitbit.
However, even on the iPhone there is actually a way to see the minutes:seconds. Press the Share icon then chose Exercise - select the exercise in question and on the resulting plot you will see the minutes:seconds on the X-axis. Totally crazy that we have to do this!

I’ve never shared from Fitbit. I do have an iPhone but where is the share icon? Don’t see it.
Yes, totally crazy. At least they’re on Strava (though that makes it even more incomprehensible that they were removed from Fitbit!)

When looking at an exercise there are buttons on the top - from left to right they are:

Hello @lois.russell
The fitbit.com on-line dashboard was retired on 08 Jul 2024. There was an announcement about this on 11 Jun 2024.

It's now coming up to 1 year that the seconds have been missing from the exercise reports. A Google Moderator has pointed out in another post that Google have the option and authority according to their user agreement to remove any features at any time. This was in response to complaints in several posts to Google's contravention of laws to protect disabled (fingers and eyes) individuals. What's the big deal Google. The finish times are still available on the X-axis of the exercise heart rate graphs found on the Share (Compose) page. I also read the post claiming that Google's update to the app was to make the report simpler by removing seconds.

@magnetix neither response is correct because the seconds field came back long ago on Android (I can see seconds on my activity summary). It's just lazy and done by amateurs iOS app development. Or since Fitbit is now a Google product the iOS app became a second class citizen here 🤷:male_sign: that was true for years the other way around (Android app was always behind iOS with features).

Though we may reduce the mishap to laziness, it is just downright absurd to have a timer that can not show the time! It does Google no credit.
I doubt that any manufacturer, Google included, has the right to remove the the main intended and marketed function of a product, in this case to show the correct time of a timed activity - absurd!

I can't believe how crappy this app and watch has become. Seconds aren't even available using the share feature anymore. I just ran and I feel like I'm lacking in achievement because of this.

Now the "share" button no longer works on my iPhone - hard to know if it was Apple or Google who broke that, but now I can not get to seconds at all anymore - absurd

Seriously don’t bother. They’ve given or or want to kill it. I’ve moved to G&£*^%m and haven’t looked back. So much more intuitive and designed for the runner. Not sure what Fitbit is designed for now?

It’s been a year (Sept. 2023) since this issue was first reported. What’s the matter Google? It’s not acceptable to round down exercise times and drop the seconds. Where are the lap durations? That’s what runners want to see.
@runninggirly47 The only place I’ve found the run/walk time is on the heart rate graph from the Exercise tile on the Compose page. On the bottom right corner is the actual exercise duration the watch reported at the time of the exercise. You can find this page from the box with up arrow at the top right corner of an exercise report. Also from the You button at the bottom.
