It’s a common belief "bad" nutrients somehow accumulate in our bodies and need to be expelled with a "detox". It’s not the way things work. There are mechanisms to store sugar (and more generally carbohydrates), for instance in your muscle glycogen and in your liver. Amounts in excess that cannot be used as fuel for your activity are stored as fat.

The "solution" to solve the sugar "problem" is to reduce intake so that it matches your requirements. If you have a sedentary lifestyle, there’s only so much sugary stuff you can eat before it gets stored as fat. Increase your activity and you’ll be able to get away with eating more (within reason).

If you have already developed conditions like insulin insensitivity, pre-diabetes or diabetes, you will need to address these.

Hi @sabinus,

Your body will burn sugar as it needs energy. Just stop eating sugar, and whatever is left in your blood will be used up soon.

Work out...eat... sleep...repeat!
