I did intense hour crossfit type exercising including weights, why showing so few calories burned?

I do an intense daily regimen of crossfit type of exercise for an hour with few breaks.  It is strength based work that includes tire flipping, free weights, sledge hammers among many others.  It showed that my calorie burn was minimal at that time.  Is walking/running all the fitbit ever accounts for?  I also work out at the gym daily.  Will that also not register?  Is there a way to adjust the sensor settings?

It's my understanding that, because Fitbits are fancy pedometers, there's no way for the tracker, itself, to know whether or not you're putting a Crossfit-caliber work out or walking around a mall. Steps are steps. You can, however, go through your Dashboard on the website, here, and add in the workout. But that's completely separate from the Fitbit, itself. "Is walking/running all the fitbit ever accounts for?" Pretty much.
