Did you mean:

I just walked 9,101 steps in 1:23:38 min, and boy am I dizzy

I needed to burn some calories, so I got out my bluetooth headphones, connected it to my desktop and turned on a Hallmark Mystery Movie, "Gourmet Detective. You can go in a circle from our hallway, through our kitchen, into our dining room, into our living room, and then you end up back in the hallway. It's a small circle, but at least I was able to do it.

I need to go sit down now. Smiley LOL:

LOL - as someone who does the same thing at night if I'm low on steps - turn around and go the other way every now and then.  Woman Tongue

But I was in such a motion I didn't want to stop. I had to keep telling my kids to stay out of my way, or I'd run them over.

That's pretty awesome. Last week I walked from my office in Arlington, VA, to 16th & M in DC to catch a bus home. I got about 6,250 steps in a little less than an hour. I guess if I ever need to get to or from work and the buses are messed up, I could do it (although I'd take a slightly different route).

I tend to avoid rail unless I'm going to a Caps game. It's more expensive and less efficient than the buses.

Great job! I live in southern Louisiana so most of my steps this summer were done indoors. The heat and humidity makes my heart rate go crazy high.  I always do at least 30 minutes nonstop briskly. My problem is keeping 2 dogs out the way, they just love to lay right in my path. Today is the first day that it actually feels like fall so will be going outside for a nice walk this evening.

I wish thst I could do that, I don't have the indurance.

Do it in short intervals, @SilverFox10, with rest periods. You don't have to do it all at once.

Thats almost 2 steps per second!   How'd you do this?  I do good to get 10,000 a day!

@SunsetRunner- that's quite doable.  Outside I walk faster, but on a treadmill I usually set it to 3mph.  Sometimes I do faster and sometimes slower.  Using 3mph that's 1 mile in 20 mins.

20 mins x 60 = 1200 seconds

2400 steps per mile* / 1200 seconds = 2 steps per second

My default at my height (I've honestly never really checked it) is just under 2400 steps per hour.  It was just easier to work it out that way.

HOly crap, that is awesome!  My walks are mainly for my little dog and are only intermittently brisk (he loves to stop and smell stuff, and occasionally thow himself down on something especially disgusting and happily roll around on it with pure joy.)  I had no ideal that humans could walk that fast!

@SunsetRunner- that's not a super fast pace actually.  Years ago when I was back in school, and off for the summer, I would walk 5-10km each day.  I averaged a little over 3.5mph.  However, I occasionally did shorter walks with my neighbour - she was over 60 at the time and she could have left me in the dust.  She had to slow down a bit for me.  Woman Happy

That may be, but I'm still amazed at the human body-it sounds like so much.
