I'm thinking of upgrading my fitbit device...

I currently have an ultra, and thinking of upgrading to a fitbit One, any current users of the fitbit One? pros? cons?

I use to have an ultra and now have a one. They are similar in function. The main benefits to the One: if you have a compatible smart phone you can sync your fitbit data through a phone app. The One is more durable than the older models. There is a silent vibrating alarm on the one--you set the time through the website or phone app. The only con, is the One is a little bulkier than the Ultra. I wore the ultra clipped on my bra and half of the thickness was on each side. With the One, I have to wear it facing in so the one is inside the cup and the clip outside otherwise there is a 1/2 inch (or so) lump. This is okay, I just cannot look at the display in public anymore. I have to sync through the phone and look at my phone to discreetly check my steps now.

Thank you for responsing for quickly!

I love my ultra and really want something similar to it, so I think the One will be the one I upgrade to.

I have an Ultra and love it...My husband just joined me and bought a Fitbit One.  He loves his and I love mine.  The One is going to be the closest one to the Ultra, easily.  I think the One is a little bit more difficult to clip on, and as the previous poster said, a tad more bulky looking, but other than that, they are pretty much the same....Go for it!

The case on my ultra began to crack and there were no replacements available for the plastic holder, so I retired it.  The flexing of the plastic eventually was just too much.  Besides, the Ultra is suseptible to moisture.  Can run or walk with it in the rain and I had it "lose" all my steps one particular hot and humid day.

The clip on the One is a lot stiffer and is a coated metal clip (with a soft-plastic) that is part of the holder for the One.  More difficult to clip over a leather belt, it does clip well over the top of pants or underwear.

The One is water resistant and I have had no problems with moisture.  I ran a marathon in the rain last February and my Fitbit One was clipped on the top of my running shorts.  No problems recording that 26.2 miles of running.  I could not have done that with the ultra unless I stuck it in a plastic bag and put it in my pocket.

Otherwise, the two are quite similar in function.

One thing you'll notice is you'll get far less Very Active Minutes (VAMs) for the same activity level with the One as with the Ultra. They clearly use different algorithms to calculate VAMs.
