Did you mean:

I think I'm hanging up the Fitbit for a while....

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I took my fitbit off this weekend...I have yet to put it back on.  I exercise Monday through Friday...I go to the gym Monday, Wednesday & Friday, and I walk every day at lunch...but I usually take a break on the weekends.  All my fitbit does right now is make me feel guilty that I'm not doing what I was doing before pregnancy.  I go to bed and take it off, and instead of being proud of myself for doing 8k steps, I beat myself up for not doing 10k.  I'm doing what I can to the max...so I feel like the fitbit is pointless right now...it's not going to make me move any more than I am now...so it's off for now. I will definitely pick it back up after the baby comes and I need to lose the weight...but until then...see ya

First of all Congratulations @SunsetRunner!

I would say not to feel guilty. You are doing this for a valid reason. You should be happy with what you have done. Your health is very important at this point. So wait until the baby comes!

Good Luck!

Congrats on your impending little one.

That said, given your condition, you aren't going to be able to exercise the way you did before. Perhaps instead of throwing in the towel, you lower your step goal (and other goals) to one that works for you.

Congratulations!!! I have to agree that cooking a human is a full time nine month 24/7 job and its exhausting. However, active healthy mommies have such an easier time of it as you well know since you are staying active in a safe way for you and the kiddo. I think you are maybe looking at the fitbit in a way its not intended. Fitbit isn't a "dictator" of what activity you should do or how many steps you should take. Its just a data output of what you do and you do what your body can do. So lower those goals to what you want your body to do for now. And after you are back to your normal activity levels- raise them back up again. I do think the output of data creates accountability for health, which you probably want- just not at the intensity that you have been doing. Lower your steps down to 5K. Your active minutes to 20. hide the calorie panel altogether because you need a boat load now.

Regardless of what you do, stay healthy, rest and enjoy the best time you will have..

I'm not completely throwing in the towel...I'm keeping up with the exercise, I'm just not going to wear it anymore.  I'm feeling much better about myself 🙂

Does your Fitbit have the heart rate?  And are you able to see how your sleep is?  I agree with others, drop that goal to half!

I have two children...and yes, indeed, I agree that growing a baby is hard work.  I remember napping on my lunch breaks to get by.  I didn't get my fitbit until many years after they were born, but recently had some health issues.  It has been great seeing me come back from those issues with lowering of heart rate, dropping some weight, seeing my sleep go from being 1 hour and 17 minutes restless to only being awake 13 minutes.

There should be no guilt!  Like you said, you are continuing with the exercising, but just taking a little break from trying to lose weight.

Don't forget to charge your device every few days or the battery may die.
