I have lost 60 pounds since November 2015. I'm loving my Fitbit.
Anyway, I was bored yesterday because the kids were gone to Grandma's and hubby was at work. So I took off and just walked/ ran all over town for about two hours. The temp was in the upper 90s and I kept getting my heart rate up to about 188-189. I didn't realize that that was way too high according to what they recommend for my age (37 female).
I was at peak for 1 hr. 10 minutes according to the app. I don't feel like I pushed myself to the point of exhaustion, but I did push a bit. It felt good!
But last night I was quite tired and went to bed early. In the middle of the night I felt like my heart stopped. I woke up and looked at my Fitbit and there were two little lines where the heart rate was supposed to be!
So did I push myself and have a heart attack? What do you think?

@SunsetRunner Congrats on your weight loss! High temperatures can be hard on our bodies and it's very important to stay hydrated. Dehydration can come easily making you feel sick. As for the two little lines where your heart rate should be, it just means your Fitbit didn't have a reading at that moment, which could be because it lost contract with your skin. That happens to mine when I have it on very loosely, which is more comfortable in high temps. My suggestion is drink a lot of water today, eat well and if you still don't feel 'right', you should contact your doctor for medical advice.

My fitbit straightlines a fair amount too. Dunno why. Would be funny if they had a sound effect like the lifesigns machine on hospital tv shows when it did.

@SunsetRunner if your heart stopped I guarantee you wouldn't be writing this post 😉 I can get my heart rate as high too, however with more training, it tends to get lower and I need to put even more effort. If you are worried, you may consult your doctor. Those two lines on the Fitbit don't mean that you just died or had a heart attack 🙂 It's the known problem of Fitbit. In my Charge 2 sometimes it shows those lines during an intense workout, sometimes when I'm sitting and doing nothing. In other words, anytime. It's incredibly annoying. It may be that your Fitbit is too loose, sometimes sweat under the tracker seems to cause that and sometimes HR monitor simply stops working and it takes a longer time to show numbers again. About your heart, better safe than sorry and you may consult your doctor and ask for advice. About Fitbit HR monitor - nothing to worry, it's just yet another Fitbit annoyance that probably won't be ever fixed 😉

I also get the two lines when I'm working out/sweating a lot. Usually it reads HR again soon, but if not I just take my fitbit off, wipe off the sweat on the sensor underneath and the top of my wrist and it usually starts reading my HR again. On long/sweaty runs I might have to do this more than once.
