I like to do water arobics and need to know if I can wear my flex fitbit? I found that I can shower with it on but nothing else. Does anyone else have info on this?

This site lists the Flex as being waterproof down to 10 meters.

What site are you referring to? I don't see one listed on your post. I like your answer but would appreciate the source of your information, please.

It's waterproof up to 10 meters! (About 30ish feet!)
Totally wearable even to the bottom of an olympic sized pool! 🙂

I think the site says that the fitbit flex is water resistant, not waterproof specifically. It does say it's safe to be submerged in less than 10 meters of water. Maybe that means it would survive if dropped in water up to 10 meters. I was hoping to see something on the offical site about using it for swimming, but it doesn't--just it being okay to shower with or use in the rain. I wouldn't swim with it or use in a pool. Better safe than sorry. In fact, I just got back from a swim and didn't wear it. Instead, I manually logged my 30 minute lap swim and it calculated and added in the calories burned, so need to risk wearing it the pool.

In fact, I read on another thread, two people saying they ruined their devices in the pool.

The information on the FitBit Flex says that it is water safe up to 10 meters. I wear mine swimming and surfing and haven't had any problems with it. I swim about 2-3 hours a week and surf for an hour or two most weeks and have had my Flex for about 7 months. I'd say that water aerobics will be fine but I wouldn't try to dive with it. All my swimming and surfing is at the surface of the ocean or pool.

I swim in a pool every afternoon for about 45 minutes. So far, I'm removing the band, but some people say they can surface swim with theirs on. What to do? Also, even when I log on my swimming, the dash board ignores the activity but it does the calories. Why is this??????????????

I use the Flex doing water aerobics including aquasize and deep water workout.
I take the device and put it into a tiny ziploc baggie and tape it to my chest. This provides enough water protection for the device. Plus it records my movements during the workout.
I have done this for two years now (I bought the Flex in 2013).
And have had no trouble with synching and keeping track of my "steps".
I also do NOT wear the device in the bracelet during showering before and after the water workouts.
For cycling, i put the Flex inside my sock. The fitbit records the cycling better this way than wearing it inside the Flex bracelet.
I hope these comments are useful to fitbit users who swim, do water aerobics and those who is it cycling.
