Hello to the whole community 😉
A question has been bothering me for several years that I have had a Fitbit Versa 2. Is it possible (have you succeeded) to keep it REALLY connected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Concretely, I encounter several problems or I have to remove it :
- Need to recharge it at least once every two days, two hours of recharge is long and it cuts the day
- Need to remove it (at least from the wrist) for combat sports (karate, MMA...) but also in places where jewelry is prohibited (hospitals etc...) or sometimes at work...
Do you have any ideas that would help me get full coverage of my business? Indeed it is a pity to miss the tracking of certain sports sessions and steps taken.
I thought about wearing it on the ankle but I'm not sure that's recommended.
Waiting for your inspirations 😉
Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

As for charging, it is probably slower charging at the low and high ends - no need to charge to 100% or to wait until it get very low. I have seen recommendations best to keep charge on any modern lithium-ion battery between 20 and 80%. Some find just charging while showering generally keeps it in decent range for quite a while. I personally spend some time at a computer and know charging 15 minutes at a time then isn't going to miss any significant activity.
Ankle, probably with a third-party strap extender from Amazon, should get you step count though not officially recommended by Fitbit, though heart rate questionable depending on placement and movement. Wear socks over it so won't get lost if comes loose, but I wouldn't trust it in kicking sports.

Thank you for your help, for karate we don't have socks, however I would have thought to use a third strap to put it around the thigh, with the internal part dial (between the legs) so that this one does not is not damaged, nor does it risk injuring the other fighters.
I also thought of using a kind of sticker, if it exists, to directly stick the dial without bracelet on the heart, what do you think?

I charge my fitbit when I am in the shower almost daily. There is no need for me to wear it in there so it is a great time to give it a boost. I very seldom let it run down past 20% if for some reason I am not charging it often. As far as the other question there is an option to wear it on your ankle or you can invest in the inspire model that can be worn as a wristless tracker although the pain in the butt set up would be involved for each time you swap out.

I'm going to chime in with the others and suggest charging it while you shower. However, batteries do degrade over time, so if you're charging every two days, you may want to start thinking about upgrading your Versa 2 to a newer model with a fresh battery. With a fresh battery, a Versa 2 can last 5 or 6 days. So the fact that you have to charge every two days (if it's truly dying after 48 hours) suggests that your battery might be reaching the end of its life.

Or take more showers then 🙂
And for the martial arts ? Does an elastic strap around the thigh seems doable and where to buy it ?
Also, does it records well the values if not on the wrist ?
Thanks a lot
