Later C25K

Started doing my own version of the C25K about two or three months ago.

Started with 1 minute jog/2 minute power walk intervals. i started getting bored with timing the intervals, so I just started going for more distance each time instead.

Today I went to a park that has two loops. The small loop is about 1.4 miles and the big loop is about 1.7 miles. I power walked the small loop to warm up, then I jogged the big loop twice.

So I jogged 3.4 miles...:)

I think that is pretty good considering I could only jog for about 30 seconds when I started.

Update:

I ran 4.8 miles non-stop today.

Even kept running on some long uphill parts.

It took a lot, but I feel pretty freaking good...:)

Thanks man.

I like to push it because I figure if I'm going to spend time exercising, I want to get the most out of that time. Sure I could waste that time in zone 3 and get a minimum training effect, or I can use that time better by staying in zone 4 & 5, and get a great training effect. And since training effect is what determines fitness level improvement, why settle on the minimum...:)
